U.K. & Provence
Traveling through the U.K. and Provence reveals two distinct yet intertwined stories of textile history and culture. In the UK, centuries-old mills, wool traditions, and patterns like tartan and tweed speak to a legacy of craftsmanship and design. In Provence, the sun-soaked markets and workshops overflow with block-printed cottons and linens inspired by trade routes and centuries of artistry. Together, they show how textiles reflect place and time, woven with history, color, and the rhythm of everyday life.
GUATEMALA
Guatemala’s textile traditions are among the most vibrant in the world, rooted in centuries of Mayan artistry and symbolism. Learning backstrap weaving is more than a craft lesson; it’s an intimate glimpse into daily life, where color, pattern, and meaning intertwine. You’ll see natural dyeing with plants and cochineal, meet weavers who carry generations of knowledge, and discover how each village tells its story through cloth. Between the weaving and the wandering, there’s time to savor Guatemalan food: fresh tortillas, tamales, rich coffee and to experience a culture that feels both deeply grounded and endlessly alive.
